DIY Save the Date: Gocco Screen Printing

Gocco Screen Printing Directions

True to Fox and Hammer style, we knew our wedding save the dates had to reflect a mix of our crafty-diy-style as well as the rustic-down-home feel of our venue location- a farmhouse and barn in California’s central coast. I’d previously seen handkerchiefs printed on and really liked the idea, so much so, that I gave these to my bridesmaids. We both loved the idea of notifying our guests with more than a postcard for the fridge, but rather a fun keepsake, perfect for their happy tears or the sweaty dance floor.

I started searching ebay for authentic vintage handkerchiefs but found purchasing new hankies from a wholesale site was much more efficient and cost effective without losing any of the vintage charm. We picked a floral motif in various color schemes for couples and girls, and plaid ones for the single guys. We wanted an original logo, so we created our own that included the important details for the big day in the shape of a heart. With the final design completed, the logo was traced with a carbon pen for gocco printing of all 70 handkerchiefs. Once they were dried we folded up the hankies and tied custom tags around them from awesome etsy seller, Sweetly Scrapped. Finally, we sent them off in hand-addressed kraft paper envelopes hopeful that our guests would enjoy our handmade hankies!

Here’s hoping the remaining diy wedding projects go just as smoothly!
